There are two types of housekeepers employed by foreign business owners.

The first type is a housekeeper/maid who moves to Japan with the highly skilled professional foreign human resources (immigration type), and the second type is a housekeeper/maid who moves to Japan with highly skilled professional foreign human resources (immigration type).

The second type is a houseworker who is permitted to engage in housework due to the fact that the foreign national has a child under the age of 13, etc. (family situation type).

The status of residence of eligible employers is "highly skilled professional," "business manager," or "legal/accounting services. The expected occupations include corporate executives, senior executives of financial institutions, and senior management of law/accounting firms.

Domestic helpers (immigration banding type) are only eligible for highly professional managers, and must be scheduled to enter and leave Japan together with their employer, and changing employers after entering Japan is not permitted. On the other hand, while a domestic helpers (domestic situation type) is allowed to change employers after entering Japan, there is a difference in that the period of stay cannot be renewed when the child of the employer, an advanced foreign talent, reaches 13 years of age or the circumstances that prevent his/her spouse from engaging in daily household chores ceases to exist.
