Hello, this is Kuwahara from IMS.

As you can see, our website has been reborn. The old website still exists, so please pick which version suits your needs best.

On the old website, we introduced a character John in our ongoing series, "John Goes". This series tackled both US and Japanese visa issues that many of our clients can relate to, and talked about solutions for these hypothetical situations (inspired by actual cases). The series will continue here on the new website, so please look forward to it! (John's prior adventures here, in Japanese)

"Okay, you'll get your passport back one week from now."

(...?? What do you mean?)

Miki had just finished her US visa interview, but she was uneasy because she could only catch the words "okay" and "one week". However, it seemed that the interview was over, and besides, she had a practice interview with Ms. Kuwahara from IMS before the actual interview. Ms. Kuwahara had told her that this was what would happen in the case of a visa approval. So maybe it was approved, after all! (*1)

"Yes, hello, this is Hashimoto. I just finished my interview, and I feel like it went all right. They didn't give me a letter or anything... Yes, they said 'one week'. Mhm, right, so... it's "approved", then? That's great, thank you!!"

Miki reported the results of the interview to IMS and realized that her US visa was granted.

(After consulting with IMS, they prepared a lot of documents... I bet it was at least twice as much as what I prepared on my own! I had the image that America was easy to travel to, but I guess I underestimated it... I still have to be on the ball when I actually get to America!)

Miki had applied for a US visa once before on her own, but whenever she remembered it, she also recalled all the difficulties and disappointments she had faced.

Just then, her cell phone rang.

"Miki-chan, how did it go?"

It was John!

"John-kun? It went great, I got my visa to America! ...wait, how do you know already?"

"Oh, I heard from Maeda in HR that you had your appointment today at the US Embassy."

Miki was touched at John's thoughtfulness.

(In fact, Miki has a bit of a crush on John, but now she'll be going far away. Will she be all right?)

To be continued--
